Joeys in a basket

Two red kangaroo joeys being raised at the Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in the Perth foothills. This is a non-profit organization which aims to rehabilitate sick, injured, orphaned and displaced native wildlife for release back into the wild.

The red kangaroo (Macropus rufus) is the largest of all kangaroos and the largest surviving marsupial. It ranges throughout western and central Australia typically inhabiting scrubland, grassland, and desert habitats.
