Grey-backed Storm Petrel & Snip

Grey-backed Storm Petrel & Snip

Conservation officer with a grey-backed storm petrel and a Chatham Island snipe in hand. These both 'fluttered' unexpectedly out of the bush on the coastine just below Robin Bush on the eastern side of Mangere Island.

Mangere Island lies off the west coast of Pitt Island, within the Chatham Islands. The Chatham Islands are an archipelago and New Zealand territory in the Pacific Ocean, over 800 kilometres east of southern New Zealand.
