Frill-necked lizard 1

Frill-necked lizard 1

The frill-necked lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii) is found mainly in northern Australia and southern New Guinea. Its name comes from the large frill around its neck, which usually stays folded against the lizard's body but is flared out as a aggressive display against predators or in courtship.

It is largely arboreal, spending the majority of the time in the trees with a diet consisting mainly of insects and small vertebrates.
